I have to say that as a photographer, I am really missing the sunlight. Right now I wouldn't mind being somewhere sunny and summery.

Also, look at this:

Thank you so much! It was so unexpected and such a nice surprise :)

As a resident of the subtropics, I have to say they're fairly overrated. There's two seasons: hot and not-so-hot.

Well I didn't say I wanted to go to Louisiana :P

New Orleans is so much fun!!! The food is great too!

Yes yes and so would Tokyo, but it's not what I'm craving at the moment :P

Well, I've also lived in South Florida! However, I have to say that going to the beach on Christmas Day with the family was pretty neat.

And New Orleans is great. You should want to go there.

As a present South Florida resident, I can confirm that beach visits at Christmas have a certain charm. I am not at all disappointed with our winter weather, having been a life-long resident of snow prone areas. White Christmases are overrated.

The greatness of New Orleans cannot be denied...though I must confess I prefer our Cafe Cubano to your Cafe au Lait.

Riptides are bad this time of year. Take Ben's mom for a swim.

I used to drink cafécito coladas like they were water. However, I still prefer café au lait with beignets. Not from Café du Monde. Those ones are gross and are for tourists. ;]

Miami is sunny basically all the time. They don't like when they say Florida is the sunshine state.

Happy New Years!
Here in the Midwest, its unseasonably mild. Overcast, with mostly rain over the next few days. I could go to the beach here, but Lake Michigan is a bit on the cool side.
