so people sometimes ask me

People sometimes ask me who my favorite photographers are or what are my inspirations, and I really don't know what to answer them. I never took any photography classes or anything like that, so I was never schooled in the big famous photographers. I know there is the internet, but I never really spend time looking up stuff like this. It feels distant to me somehow. Or well maybe not distant, it is more like a lack of feeling extra close (because of me doing photography as well). When I go to exhibitions or whatever I feel like just anyone else going there. So for photography I don't really have any big "rolemodels" like that.

Of course I am really inspired by things, but I've noticed that usually it is other stuff. For example one thing that really gets me going is all forms of street art. Just seeing it exist makes me so happy. Even the crappy stuff! Listening to music I like. Or experiencing an atmosphere and wanting to capture (and maybe alter) it.

So sorry for not having those answers, you people who asked.

*shrugs* :)

I understand what you mean about not really knowing much about other famous people that share your passion. Thing is sometimes I just wonder why I'm supposed to know who they are. I mean it is my passion, regardless of their work or what they've done. It's become my own outlet of creativity. And while i respect and marvel at other's accomplishments and work, I don't feel I'm obligated to know everything about them. The beautiful picture says enough about that person without their name or life attached to the image. They alone know their work and value their own photography. So why can't I do the same.

Well I certainly see the value of it. I just don't feel the need or desire so much :p
