so last night was really cool
28th-May-2008 11:19 am

There was a thunderstorm that lasted for hours and hours and this kind of thing is great when you live on the 21st floor. Cool view! Norway doesn't really get many of these so I'm excited when I see it here ^^

There's not that many photos today. They are all from the big temple in Asakusa :) It was raining that day, so we didn't move around much.

your shots have been growing dark and beautifully moody.
28th-May-2008 09:41 am (UTC)
just trying some new stuff i guess :)
28th-May-2008 09:50 am (UTC) - don't like your new way to take photos
it seems a bit like a tourist with a snapshot-cam with idiotic(night)-mode.
It's a pity that you tried something new in a town you won't come to often.
That's not very professional.
Hopefully you get back to your old style soon.

You know, I appreciate criticism, but not when you don't have the balls to sign your name under it. Then it just goes in the same category as those idiots on youtube.

Gosh, I love the koi.
All these are especially wonderful.
And your friend totally has a see-through umbrella. Love.
28th-May-2008 10:43 am (UTC)
You're really into koi eh?

Apparantly Tokyo is big on sudden rains so they have these cheap umbrellas in most shops. I liked them too, but the quality was shit ;) Sam managed to break one of his just 5 seconds out of the shop where he bought it.

Well it's reversed from the one the Nazi used. And I am pretty sure the Buddhists used it a long time before Hitler ;)

Did you get and pic's of the Thunder Storms?
28th-May-2008 03:05 pm (UTC)
Nope! It wasn't really beautiful. Just cool :p
28th-May-2008 04:36 pm (UTC)
I love the dark moody thing that's going on there.
You have quite an eye.
Where are you planning to travel next?
28th-May-2008 08:18 pm (UTC)
The only travel that I know of is a trip to our cabin in Norway this summer :)
28th-May-2008 06:09 pm (UTC)
I agree with the first comment. Steadily growing dark and moody, but there's still a certain peace and beauty about the shots you've been taking abroad. I might've missed it from the previous posts, but have you shot the cherry blossoms yet?
28th-May-2008 08:22 pm (UTC)
Yeah you missed it then. There are lots and lots of sakura photos from the last few days ;)

That actually reminded me of this Japanese horror film I saw as a child, it had these dark looming clouds in it... ahh. What a beaut.

These are by far the best pictures along with the huge crossing and the Ueno Park photos.

Is Tonton your boy? Or is that too personal? :O

28th-May-2008 08:23 pm (UTC)
No no just a very nice friend :)
28th-May-2008 10:31 pm (UTC)
these are excellent as usual. I don't know what they one commenter saw, but I guess they are entitled to their own opinion.

that picture with the sky above the temple is FUCKING EPIC.

end of the world, monsters coming to kill people. very nice.

the one with the red banners is pretty cool too.
29th-May-2008 12:52 pm (UTC)
thank ya! :)
29th-May-2008 03:14 am (UTC)
there's a sinister quality to the photos with the rolling storm clouds over the temple. how do you capture that effect?
29th-May-2008 12:52 pm (UTC)
ummmmm.....it's complicated :p
30th-May-2008 11:40 pm (UTC)
I purified myself at that very dragon basin in June of 1998.

I sat sazen for half a day in the temple.
I tied my prayers onto branches folded on rice paper.

How many millions cross this very path? How many more in these 10 years that you and I both know?

Spectacular photos. The storm behind the temple blew me away.
