Oh no no no :) Now it's the ones from Norway!

I was there now in the beginning of May for my sister's confirmation ceremony. For those of you who don't know what it is, it is sort of a confirmation of your baptism. I guess you can compare it to the Jewish Bar Mitzvah, except it's when you are 14/15. I know they do this in a lot of other countries as well, but in Norway it is sort of a big deal. The focus is not really much on the religious part anymore and more on the "you're not a child now". And the presents. The kids always get a lot of cash :P

Edvard had his confirmation the weekend before my sister's so I went to Norway a little early to catch that as well. Usually it is pretty much only family who attend, but his family and my family are just as close anyway.

Blah blah blah I don't like writing this long :P

Andreas, the brother

Eline, the sister

Matias (my little brother, for those of you not in the know)

Gunnar, the father

Johanne (my sis)

My brother shows his love :P

Sissel, the mother

My sweet sister again :P

My mother :)

edit: i have no idea how i managed to size them differently

That penguin threw me off a bit haha!

Aww your family's so sweet :) And Edvard looks happy ^__^

I thought it was going to be Matias' Confirmation but I may be confused .__.

And my goodness is your sister rich now! She can buy another piercing :D (Don't tell her I said that).

like everyone (me included) always says: you have beautiful family who inspire you to take wonderful photos.
and Matias looks sexier every time you take his picture.
i'm surprised nobody has hired him yet to be a movie star

that said, i don't think there is anyone "hiring movie stars" :p

it is insane to have that much beauty in one gene pool. insane and unfair.

i knew you took great pictures of yourself, but i didn't know it translated into just being a fucking amazing photographer all the way around. you truly have a crazy eye for contrast and composition. these are stunning and i'm really psyched to see more from you now. you are easily one of the best photographers that i've ever had interaction with.

kudos on your major talent.

Thanks for all the nice words! I'm happy you like the photos :)

Haha, I love the comments you're getting :p

Loved the photos, really beautiful! I always find confirmations really tedious but you made it look alot more interesting :)
31st-May-2008 04:04 pm (UTC)
Well there was a more "serious" lunch before the place where the photos were taken. Maybe that's the sort of thing you were thinking about?
31st-May-2008 04:23 pm (UTC)
wow, your mom is very beautiful too!

she's alright! :)
31st-May-2008 05:15 pm (UTC) - der Olafson
This is in germany the same. And most of the non-religious people use that "atheistic" version "Jugendweihe" - it means the same as "you're not a child now". Especially in the eastern parts of germany is this the most common version, because most of the citizen are nonreligious there. It is a kind of tradition that lives on since the time when East Germany was GDR. The kids always get a lot of cash, too.

Yes it is the same in Norway, there is a non religious version. It is what I did, and Edvard as well. It's really cool actually. They do it well...

You're all such beautiful people, goodness.
I don't think I'll ever get confirmed but I was baptized and did my communion also! But I think communion is just a Catholic thing.
1st-Jun-2008 11:30 am (UTC)

Communion is the stuff where you have some wine? Yeah we don't do that.
