Happy Valentine's Day everyone ❤

I was considering writing down some thoughts on why I have been single for so long (i think it has been 6 years now!), but I figured I'd rather stay a little bit mysterious on that. In the end this love stuff is more or less complicated for all of us.

Then I thought maybe I'll write about what I like in a boy, but that I will save for another day. Need to be in a certain mood for it! :)

Anyway, it's a beautiful day today. I woke up happy, and I've been in a good mood since. Sun in the sky! New episode of One Piece! And we are doing a party tonight for Valentine's Day as well. Sam invited everybody and their grandmother, so if you are in the area feel free to stop by :P

Oh and Happy Chinese New Year too! \o/

You want a real man?

Personally, I prefer celebrate Chinese New Year and attempt to ignore the other event today. I do, however, wish you much love and happiness on this day, good sir.

Happy Valentine's Day to you too! (though I think it's commercial shit)
And I am certain you'll find a beautiful boyfriend someday. ;D
Lol, funny photo, after one understood that you're holding that thing from behind.
Yay for new One Piece! I watched the episode today and it's the gayest episode so far. :D (In the most positive way, it's like Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Anime)

Greetings, Jonas

Yeah, totally reminded me of Rocky Horror!

I think Valentine's Day, like any holiday really, is exactly what you make of it yourself. You can ignore it or take it as an excuse to celebrate :)

I actually just posted my feelings about the "holiday" on Facebook, which I'll just copy because it's 3am. lol

I know what everyone here is probably thinking, "He's just a bitter single guy", but it's not that at all. I just think the day itself is a lame joke to sell overpriced un-natural roses and bad chocolate. The day isn't about love or affection, it's about selling cheap shit to try and make it seem you love someone more than you most likely do.

No day is really meaningless, but I try to show my love, and affection and the fact I care to my friends and relationships everyday. Sometimes we fight, argue, have misunderstanding, but that's life, and in the end everything is fine. Does giving a rose on February 15th show any less affection than the day before? If it does that says a lot about the relationship. I have given birthday "cake" (it was a donut) weeks after a friend's birthday. A friend of mine gave me a box of chocolate on January 31st last year, for everything the two of us have shared together. February 14th 2010 is one day in the history of a relationship. Friendships are relationships too, but they will most likely last longer and be more meaningful than a boyfriend or girlfriend.

I got together with a few friends on the 12th and 13th, one so close to it's like we have dated for years, and he is like family, another who is a wise old man, always with a crazy, fun story, and a newer one who I haven't gotten to see in awhile, but was worth the wait, and always feel great to see. The time with them is always too short, and it will always be too long since I get to see them again, so enjoy the time together no matter what the date.

My point is go out and enjoy your friends and the person you are dating or married to and any other loved ones any and every day you can, because everyday is special and you never know what will happen tomorrow. Hug, kiss, hold hands, color them a picture, write them a caring note, give them a stupid little gift only they would understand, or just do nothing and give them a look that they can tell you missed them or care about them. Or simple cook them dinner, or simple just talk. Just express yourself to them the best you can.

Dove Promises have little sayings in the wrapper. My favorite from 6.5 years ago is still... "Share good chocolate with good friends." Good advice. Good chocolate and good friends should be appreciated everyday.

Strong opinions!

I think it seems to be more stressful in the US, where there are more expectations coming with Valentine's Day. Over here you can pretty much ignore it if you want, but also take it as an excuse to celebrate.

Well what's the point of having an opinion if it's not going to be strong? :-]

It's like the person a few posts down saying you are "too loose". He is most likely a clueless American. Everyone tries to define things and fit you into this so called "perfect" society. You have to do it this way, and fit this label, and my way, or the highway. No date on Valentines Day! Loser! Not going out? You don't love him/her! They are too close minded to see there are other ways to be happy. The last "boyfriend" I have had ended July 2005. I then met a friend and we have sex, we cuddle, hug, kiss and just talk. I love him and he loves me, but we are only friends and we can get close to other people too. What's the problem with that? There is none. Be happy doing who and what you want. Valentines Day is just another day in which society tries to get you in line so we are all zombie people with no personalities or thoughts of our own. Live your own life, we could all be dead tomorrow. Not pessimistic, just the way of the world.

I have many opinions that are mild :P

16th-Feb-2010 03:49 am (UTC) - why you are single
your cute and living a care free life, maybe if you could not be so loose and give up the 3ways,etc. you could settle down and see what a loving, monogamous relationship can bring, it can be amazing :)
18th-Feb-2010 09:38 pm (UTC) - Re: why you are single
Not "be loose"? lol

I think there are many reasons to why I am still single. Not just because I like to kiss cute boys.
