It's over! No more episodes.

I'm going to put the rest of this behind a cut so I don't spoil anything in case you don't want to know how it ends.

OK so first... As an episode I thought it was great. Someone told me the original writers came back to do the end, and it makes me wish it had just been them all along. Remember before when that terrible Nicki & Paolo episode was an exception? Lately well written episodes have been so far between.... The Jin & Sun remembering scene was a million times more powerful than when they were reunited a few episodes ago, or even when they died together.

It was really nice to see the characters interacting again. That's something I have missed as well. It brought back that old feeling!

As for the end explanation...lol. Ridiculous! Purgatory? Come on :P OK I guess I can accept that as an explanation for this last season, but how does this have anything to do with the island? Dharma? The monster? The statue? Time travel? The only connection they made was that the things they did on the island together were "the most important events in their lives".

I guess wrapping all this up well would have been more than difficult, but that doesn't make the fail any less of a fail :P

The finale sucked. It was a really safe way to end things and this whole season was pretty disappointing. Jin and Sun scenes, however, always get me. I love them.

I stopped watching Lost after the 3rd season, it was all to confusing. And I hear the finale didn't even answer a lot of questions!

My understanding was that everything that happened on the island did indeed happen, and that the "alternate reality" world where they were off the island was indeed a kind of limbo/purgatory. Everyone that got off at the island at the end (Sawyer, Claire, Kate, Miles, Richard & Frank) actually left and lived out their lives, Hurley & Ben stayed on the island as caretakers, and everyone who died did die, but they didn't move on. They didn't move on until everyone died and that's when they remembered. But since time isn't linear in limbo, they all died at separate times (either before or after leaving the island) but then moved on together. Excepct for Ben, who still had some penanceing to do.
I did enjoy it, especially the last 15 minutes or so when everyone was together. It was a sappy moment but I think they handled it well. Though yeah, I do wish they had given more answers. But I was happy to see old faces (BOONE! <3 Rose & Bernard. And Vincent is the best character ever!) so all in all, didn't hate it, just wished it there was more. Oh well, time to move on to the next tv show addiction!

Really, who cares it is only a dumb television show. Most everything today on TV is garbage.

That's the way I took the ending to mean. Jack's father Christian Shepard said some died before you Jack and some passed later. It was Jack's life story.

I was never interested in "Lost", it was boring already in the first episode - so who is the blond guy? I hope you 'll do some more pics of him again to show them here! :P

30th-May-2010 03:04 am (UTC) - Let's be honest, the show is a joke!
That last episode was a joke! Sure it was a fitting ending to the season but no way was it fitting to the show!

The writers have been the same writers the last few years. J.J. Abrams didn't come back for the finale episode. They always said that they couldn't explain what the island was until the finale episode because then people wouldn't watch. They never told us anything!

What happened to the children on the plane? What were the children needed for? Why couldn't babies be born on the island? How did Darma find the island? What were they doing experiments on? Why was Smokie so pissed off? I mean really he wanted off the island, can you blame him? How do you explain this plane landing back in LA with completely different people on it than when they left? Plus the island is all the good in the world? Wow... that must be a tiny island!

It was incredibly lame and I'm glad I missed the first half because I was chatting with a friend's cute roommate. :-]

*End of rant*

I feel better now.

J.J. Abrams never really came back for anything besides the pilot. I think he meant Lindelof (and Cuse), who only did 4 or 5 eps per season in the later years. Otherwise in complete agreement.
