This whole thing is just getting more and more unbelievable. In the last few days I've read about flooding, sharks, rapes, lootings, snipers (!!!) and robbers. I don't think anyone had pictured something like this a week ago. I mean, they always give these hurricanes a lot of hype. I don't really blame the people who stayed behind, they thought it would just be the regular thing. I'm pretty sure they didn't expect the biggest threat was to come from other people, and not just the weather. It's just unbelievable that people are taking advantage of the situation for things like rapes and sniping (!!!!!!!!).

On the other hand, I can't help but find the whole thing very interesting.

that's the thing I've been watching CNN and other news broadcasts and I haven't heard in mention of that. I go online and I find several articles that mention it within seconds.

Yeah, I've been sort of keeping up with this by listening to NPR... its basically utterly insane down there right now.

What really has got me thinking the most is how fast everything just collapsed, right there in the middle of the US. Like some science fiction movie or something. It makes me wonder what would happen if something really big hit Western Society.

We were talking at lunch today about this... someone said that it was like those movies of the apocolipse, and the movies about post-nuclear bomb western society, or like the family guy episode after Y2K. I don't doubt that in a few years they will make a movie about what is going on in Louisiana right now.
It definatly feels like a sci-fi book.

I want to talk to you at lunch too! I miss talking to you and being in our own elitist group. And making you tin foil packets.
When are you moving close to me?

It's horrible. :( I'm so... ashamed of the way our administration is dealing with this. Ugh *shudders*

My family has been in debate as to whether or not to try and open our house to refugees... I want to, but my mom brought up the risk that there is very little way to tell whether you're getting a sweet family or a rapist... I think we should risk it.
